STUDIO X
For startups and scale-ups

Ready to scale. Need a technical partner.

We are the technical partner for Norwegian startups and scale-ups that want to go for it, from a good idea and the willingness to set up a company, to a prototype, first customers and continued growth. We are happy to get you started with a simple web or PWA solution first, and take the product on to an app and scaling when the time is right.

Who we build for

Startups that want to go for it.

We work both with startups right at the start and with companies that have proved the concept. What matters most is that you want to go for it properly, then we meet you where you are, from a first web or PWA solution to an app and further scaling.

01

You have an idea you want to go for

You have a good idea and are willing to commit properly, often by setting up a company and investing in a real start. We often help you get going with a simple web or PWA solution, and take the product on from there.

02

You have funding or first paying customers

Pre-seed, seed or a convertible note. Or contracted customers who cover the development. The point is that there are resources to invest in a proper technical delivery.

03

You have a team but lack senior technical capacity

Perhaps a founder who can code a little. Perhaps a freelancer who built the MVP. Now you need a complete team that can take over and run production.

04

You need speed, not just working hours

The window is open now. We assemble a team that delivers at sprint pace, with technical ownership from day one. No ramp-up months before code is produced.

We are not right for

When someone else is a better fit.

  • ·You are looking for a co-founder or someone to take equity
  • ·You only want free idea validation without committing further
  • ·You are not willing to set up a company or set aside resources
  • ·You expect us to take the risk rather than be a supplier

Right at the start? Get in touch anyway. We are used to taking startups through the whole journey, from a first web or PWA solution to an app and further scaling.

What we deliver

Concrete help for every growth phase.

We work with companies at different growth stages, from early product building to scaling. The approach adapts to what you need right now.

From MVP to production

We take over whatever code exists, carry out a technical assessment, and rebuild it into something that handles real growth. Often faster and cheaper than building from scratch.

App development for consumer or B2B

iOS, Android and PWA. React Native with Expo as the default to save time and budget, native when the product demands it.

Systems development and customer portals

Case handling, dashboards, integrations with third-party services. Scalable architecture from the start.

AI and automation features

RAG-based assistants, LLM integrations, automated document handling. We build AI in where it delivers concrete customer value, not for the sake of hype.

Technical due diligence

Do investors need an assessment of codebase, architecture or team? We carry out structured technical reviews in one to two weeks.

Technical advisory and architecture

If you do not yet have your own technical team, we help with technical strategy and architecture choices, as an advisor alongside you until you build your own capability.

Our policy

Our policy: no equity, a clean supplier agreement

We are often asked whether we want to become a co-founder or take equity in the product. The answer is no, and it is a matter of principle. Here is why.

We do not take shares or options

We are a technical supplier, not a co-founder. That keeps us objective, gives you flexibility, and means we can work with multiple companies in the same industry without a conflict of interest.

Clear ownership from the start

For startups we know it often matters that the founders own the source code themselves, both for further development, scaling and a possible future acquisition. What you own and have rights to is something we agree up front, so the terms are clear before we begin.

Good prices for startups

We know budgets are tight in an early phase. That is why we offer good, predictable prices and often a fixed price on defined deliveries, so you know what you get and what it costs.

With you from start to scale

We are open about what capacity we can commit and for how long, so you can feel confident that we are with you all the way. We have followed several startups from a first web or PWA solution, on to app, operations and international scaling, and are happy to help you build your own team when the time is right.

How we work

Integrity, accountability and openness.

Your needs matter greatly, and we work to meet them with a culture of integrity, accountability and openness. That means open communication throughout, so you are kept up to date on both progress and challenges in the project.

Our commitment means we do our utmost to exceed expectations and deliver solutions of the highest quality, not just what is agreed on paper.

How we get started

Four steps from first conversation to code in production.

  1. 01

    Short sparring session

30 minutes on video. You tell us about the idea, where you are today, and where you want to go. We assess whether we are the right match.

  2. 02

    Technical review

One to two weeks of paid work in which we go through the codebase or specification, assess the architecture, and plan the next phase.

  3. 03

    Sprint-based delivery

We deliver in two-week sprints. Demo and status every time. You see code in production early in the process, not after months of build-up.

  4. 04

    Scaling and handover

When you are ready for your own team, we help with technical handover, recruiting the first developers, and a smooth transition.

Frequently asked questions

What startups ask us.

See also all frequently asked questions or read about what a development partner really is.

Are you a development partner that takes equity in startups?

No. We do not take shares, options or any other ownership stake in our clients. This is a deliberate choice: it keeps us objective, gives you full flexibility, and means we can work with multiple companies in the same industry without being bound by a conflict of interest.

How early can I get in touch with you?

Early is perfectly fine. We work both with startups at an early stage with a good idea and the will to commit, and with companies that already have a prototype, users or funding. If you are right at the start, we often help you get going with a simple web or PWA solution, and take the product on to an app and scaling when the time is right. What matters most is that you want to go for it properly.

What does it cost to work with STUDIO X as a tech partner?

It depends on scope and which team is required. We provide a fixed price on defined deliveries after a technical review, so you know what you are paying for before we start. For ongoing work we agree on a model that suits the phase you are in.

Can you start quickly?

Usually yes, with a short ramp-up. We assemble a team based on the need, carry out a technical review of the existing code, and get going on the first sprint quickly. How fast depends on capacity and complexity, ask us what the situation looks like right now.

How do you handle changes along the way? That is typical for startups.

We expect it. Each two-week sprint is an opportunity to adjust priorities based on what you have learned. Changes in scope are handled as open additional orders with a clear price and timeline, no surprises. We would rather adjust course every two weeks than deliver something nobody wants after six months.

What happens if we want to take over development ourselves later?

That is the goal for many of our clients, and something we cheer on. In startup projects you usually own the source code yourselves, and we agree the ownership up front, so when you are ready we help with technical handover, documentation, and we can even help with recruiting the first in-house developers. We would rather see you succeed with your own team than have you tied to us forever.

Do you have experience with investor reporting and technical due diligence?

Yes. We are familiar with what is expected in terms of technical documentation in due-diligence processes for investment rounds and acquisitions, and we can deliver material that withstands that scrutiny. We are happy to speak directly with investors and the board.

Can we combine people from you with our own internal team?

Yes, and that is a common model. We can step in as senior developers and technical advisors while you build up internal capacity. We follow the same processes, GitHub flow and quality standards as if we were your own employees.
Ready to scale?

Talk to one of us.

Send us a few words about the idea and where you are today, and we will take it from there. We are happy to build a POC, MVP or PWA to get going quickly. We reply personally, shortly.
