The citizen app municipalities actually adopt.
We develop citizen apps that bring services, information and dialogue together in one place, where residents are: on their phone. Secure login with ID-porten, universal design and operations included.
What is a citizen app?
A citizen app is a mobile app in which the municipality brings services, information, notifications and dialogue with residents together in one place. Instead of searching across websites and portals, residents get a single surface on their phone, with secure login via ID-porten.
The result is a municipality app that lowers the barrier to using municipal services, regardless of the resident's digital competence, and that lets the municipality reach people directly with push notifications.
Everything the resident needs, in their pocket.
We build the citizen app around the tasks residents carry out, not around the municipality's organisational chart.
Single entry point
Services, applications, news, calendar and contact information in one app, not scattered across websites and portals.
Push notifications
Reach residents directly when events, announcements and deadlines arise, without depending on email and newsletters.
Secure login
ID-porten for residents, so that personal services and dialogue take place safely and with a clear audit trail.
Booking and sign-up
Let residents register for events, make bookings and find their way around, directly in the app.
Universal design
Built to WCAG and tested with real users, so the app works for everyone.
The municipality is in control
A publishing tool that lets the municipality update content, notifications and the calendar without waiting for a supplier.

About citizen apps.
What is a citizen app?
A citizen app is a mobile app in which a municipality brings services, information, notifications and dialogue with residents together in one place. Instead of residents having to search across websites and portals, they get a single surface on their phone with what they need, often with secure login via ID-porten.
What is the difference between a municipality app and the municipality website?
The website is for look-up; the app is for dialogue and notification. A municipality app can send push notifications directly to residents' phones, remember a logged-in user, work offline and provide a faster, more personal experience. The two complement each other.
How secure is the login?
We use ID-porten for resident login, and build privacy, encryption and auditability into the data model from the start. Privacy and security are part of the delivery from day one, not something added at the end.
Does a citizen app need to go through public procurement?
It depends on the value and the contract form. We are familiar with public procurement and can deliver through various contract forms, including framework agreements. We are happy to help identify the right route.
Which municipalities has STUDIO X built a citizen app for?
We have, among others, developed the citizen app for Øygarden municipality, a unified surface for services, information and dialogue with secure login and universal design to WCAG.
