STUDIO X
By STUDIO X

The nursing home app that keeps families close.

One system with its own app for residents, relatives and staff. Messages, news, activities and the menu in one place, with an admin system where the nursing home manages everything itself. Already developed, and adapted to your nursing home.

How do relatives stay in touch with the nursing home?

With the nursing home app, relatives and the ward write together in a separate conversation for each resident. The ward can share a greeting or a photo from everyday life, and relatives get a notification on their phone.

Important notices from management go out to everyone at once, so fewer people need to call to find out the same thing.

Three phones: a notification from the ward on the lock screen, the list of messages in the nursing home app and a conversation between relatives and the ward with a photo from a sing-along.
  • Notifications on the phone

Relatives are told when the ward writes, without having to check the app.

  • One conversation per resident

Relatives and the ward together, with photos from everyday life.

  • Management notices to everyone

Visiting hours and important changes reach everyone at once.

What is a nursing home app?

A nursing home app is an app where the nursing home shares messages, news, activities and the menu with relatives, residents and staff. The nursing home app from STUDIO X is a ready-made system with an app for iOS and Android, a web version and an admin system. It is adapted to the name, wards and needs of each nursing home, and can be extended with more functionality.

The difference from a newsletter or a Facebook group is that the app is the nursing home's own channel. The nursing home decides who sees what, the content is in one place, and relatives no longer have to look for information in several places.

Is the app easy to use for older people and relatives?

Yes, it is built for that. The nursing home adds relatives in advance, so all they need to get started is their phone number. No passwords to remember.

  1. Log in with a phone number

A code by SMS, without a password. News can be read without logging in.

  2. The right ward automatically

Relatives only see content from the ward where their family member lives.

  3. Choose what to be notified about

Messages, management notices, news, activities or the menu. Can be changed at any time.

Three phones showing how to get started in the nursing home app: welcome screen, login with a phone number and choice of notifications.

What does the nursing home app include?

Everything relatives and residents usually ask about: what is happening, what is on the menu and what is new. Staff publish once, and everyone who should get the message receives it.

Four phones: the home screen with a management notice and news, the activity calendar, today's menu with allergens and the social wall with a photo from an autumn outing.
  • Messages

Conversations between relatives and the ward, with photos. Relatives see the ward as the sender.

    Relatives and staff

  • Management notices

Important notices to everyone, without replies. Shown at the top of the app and as a notification.

    Management to everyone

  • News

Stories with photos, to everyone or to one ward, with push notifications.

    Everyone

  • Activities

A calendar of events, outings, entertainment and exercise.

    Residents and relatives

  • Menu

Today's and this week's meals, with allergens and nutritional content.

    Residents and relatives

  • Social wall

Photos and posts from everyday life on the ward, with likes and comments.

    Everyone

  • Feedback

Suggestions for improvement and complaints, with status from received to resolved.

    Relatives and management

  • Admin system

Publishing, users, roles, access and statistics in one place.

    Staff and management

The nursing home's admin system on a computer, showing relatives waiting for a reply, statistics and upcoming activities, with the nursing home app on a phone beside it.

How does the nursing home manage the content?

From its own admin system in the browser. There, staff publish news, activities and the menu, reply to relatives and see what is waiting. Management decides who has access to what.

  • No enquiries forgotten

Relatives waiting for a reply are shown at the top, with the time since they wrote.

  • Roles and access

From employee and unit manager to general manager and system admin, per nursing home and ward.

  • No health information

The app is made for communication. Data is stored in the EU/EEA.

  • Overview and statistics

See how many relatives use the app, and what gets read.

Is the nursing home app ready, or does it need to be developed?

Frequently asked questions

What is a nursing home app?

A nursing home app is an app where the nursing home shares messages, news, activities and the menu with relatives, residents and staff. It replaces scattered emails, notices and phone calls with one channel that everyone can use on their phone.

Can relatives send messages to the ward?

Yes. Each resident can have their own conversation where relatives and the ward write together, also with photos. Relatives see the ward as the sender, not the name of the individual employee, and the nursing home can control who has access.

Is health information stored in the app?

No, the app is made for communication and information, not for health information. Data is stored in the EU/EEA, access is controlled with roles, and the solution is made to meet the requirements for universal design (WCAG 2.1 AA).

Is the app easy to use for older people and relatives?

It is built for that. Login uses a code sent by SMS, without a password, and news can be read without logging in. Large tap targets, clear text and scalable fonts make the app easy to use for as many people as possible.

Can several nursing homes in the same municipality use the system?

Yes. The system has three levels: central, nursing home and ward. A municipality can bring all its nursing homes together in one system, while each ward has its own content and its own relatives.

Is the nursing home app a ready-made product, or is it developed from scratch?

It is a ready-made system that is adapted to each nursing home, not developed from scratch every time. That makes getting started faster than when everything has to be developed anew. At the same time, the system is not locked: STUDIO X can extend it with, for example, BankID, booking of visits or integration with clinical systems.

What does a nursing home app cost?

The price depends on how many nursing homes and wards are included, and how much needs to be adapted. We give a fixed price after a short conversation about your needs, so you know what it costs before you decide.

We are happy to show you how it could look for you.

We reply personally, often the same day. Call or send an email, and we'll work out whether we're the right match for your project.
